Please join us for this informative workshop designed for the beginning collector. Well known “antiques picker” Jack Jacobs, who was mentored by the late George W. Thomas of Odessa, has scoured regional auctions and estate sales for last 25 years in search of extraordinary objects.
Bring your antiques and family treasures for identification! Debbie Buckson, HOF Executive Director, Betty Fiske, HOF Contract Conservator, and Jack Jacobs, Independent Antiques Picker will be on hand to discuss your family heirlooms, their condition, and care. Reservations are required and participants are limited to 2 objects per person.

Join the Historic Odessa Foundation’s hearth cooks in the bustle of holiday preparations for a sumptuous Christmas feast. While parents enjoy the HOF Christmas exhibit and festive foods hearth cooking, children can join in storytelling in the Storybook Trees exhibit and then rejoin their families for holiday cookie decorating in the Collins-Sharp House.

Please join us for an exciting exhibit focusing on the Historic Odessa Foundation’s collection of early to late 19th century toys.
Get into the Christmas spirit by attending a special evening candlelight guided tour of the holiday exhibit A Madeline Christmas at the National Historic Landmark, Corbit Sharp House. The tour will be led by the curator of the exhibit who will describe the inspirations behind each room vignette.
You are invited to step back in time through the doors of the Historic Odessa Foundation and explore the Christmas traditions of yesteryear! Participants experience a special candlelight tour of our 2013 holiday exhibit and enjoy champagne and festive treats in front of a roaring fire at the Collins-Sharp House, c.1700.
As part of our 2013 Guide Training Program HOF Docents are invited to take part in a small group workshop. We will be focusing on our ceramics collection with emphasis on objects that can be directly related to the Odessa properties and the families associated with them.
The first "Christmas in Odessa" took place 49 years ago as a fundraiser for the Women's Club of Odessa. The purpose was to fund college scholarships for local high school seniors. With the help and cooperation of Odessa homeowners and the Historic Odessa Foundation, the Women’s Club of Odessa has provided scholarships to over 100 students.
