For the past 30 years the Historic Odessa Foundation has celebrated children’s literature by recreating scenes from the classics in one of our 18th-century houses.

Join the Historic Odessa Foundation and the Corbit-Calloway Library as we read excerpts from “Alice in Wonderland” and then tour our holiday exhibit after decorating delicious holiday cookies. We welcome parents and children for storytime, cookie decorating and a tour of our holiday exhibit.

The first "Christmas in Odessa" took place 49 years ago as a fundraiser for the Women's Club of Odessa. The purpose was to fund college scholarships for local high school seniors. With the help and cooperation of Odessa homeowners and the Historic Odessa Foundation, the Women’s Club of Odessa has provided scholarships to over 100 students.

A lecture, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," will be held Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Visitor's Center in Odessa. Carolyn Vega, curator of the "Alice: 150 Years in Wonderland" exhibit at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City, presents an engaging account of the genesis, publication, and enduring appeal of Lewis Carroll's classic tale.
