The HISTORIC ODESSA FOUNDATION is pleased to host a collection of 49 colorful theorem paintings created by Noreen Taylor, of Dover, Delaware. Taylor has been named as a top 200 artisan in the Early American Life Magazine. Her work consistently appears in the magazine’s annual directory.
The Historic Odessa Foundation has cause for celebration this year. 2015 marks the anniversary of the foundation’s incorporation in 2005, and signals a new chapter in a legacy of historic preservation that began more than a century ago with two of Odessa’s most prosperous families – the Corbits and the Wilsons.
Come join the talented early American artist Noreen Taylor as she reviews and demonstrates this unique early 19th century American art form. Taylor will share traditional techniques on how to create beautiful theorem paintings using old time designs. A question and answer period will be included in this informative discussion.
This presentation outlines the results of an archaeological research project conducted during the past 3 years by John Bansch, Coordinator of Archaeology Projects at Historic Odessa.
