You are invited to step back in time through the doors of the Historic Odessa Foundation and explore the Christmas traditions of yesteryear! Participants experience a special candlelight tour of our 2014 holiday exhibit and enjoy champagne and festive treats in front of a roaring fire at the Collins-Sharp House, c.1700.
December 2014
The first "Christmas in Odessa" took place 49 years ago as a fundraiser for the Women's Club of Odessa. The purpose was to fund college scholarships for local high school seniors. With the help and cooperation of Odessa homeowners and the Historic Odessa Foundation, the Women’s Club of Odessa has provided scholarships to over 100 students.
Discover the inspiration behind the Christmas exhibit, The Classic Fairy Tale: Little Snow White, by the curator who created the display. Learn how the items placed in each room vignette recreate the holiday story to delight children and adults. This presentation is similar to what the museum guides receive before leading tours through the exhibit.
Join the Historic Odessa Foundation and the Corbit-Calloway Library as we celebrate a day of fairy tales and fun. We welcome parents and children for fairy tale storytime, cookie decorating and a tour of our holiday exhibit, “Little Snow White”.
