2021 Storybook Trees Registration Ends November 5th

The Historic Odessa Foundation celebrates children’s literature and a love of reading by showcasing holiday trees decorated by community and school groups in the National Historic Register Corbit-Sharp House.  The exhibit will run from November 16th through December 30th and will be open as part of “Christmas in Odessa” on December 4, 2021.  Storybook Trees registration form goes out to former participants and local schools/daycares and youth groups.  Forms will also be available to the general public at the HOF Visitors Center and on the HOF website.

Black History Month

Historic Odessa Foundation school program partners with Cedar Lane Elementary School in presenting a school-wide assembly, “Slavery and the Underground Railroad:  History in Your Own Backyard”. This program will be presented on video and will be available on Zoom during the month of February to all teachers for their use in the classroom.

Exhibit: Middletown High School: Advanced Placement Studio Art

The Historic Odessa Foundation is proud to showcase the creative talents of students from the Appoquinimink School District’s Middletown High School’s Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art Class in an exhibit from March 30 to April 30, 2021, in the Foundation’s Visitor Center Gallery. Visitors will get a chance to see what these promising artists have accomplished over the past school year to complete their AP Senior Portfolios.
