Liz and Steve: Vintage Wedding

Tuesday, October 7, 2014 - 4:00pm

Liz and Steve's wedding theme was the 1920’s … so Historic Odessa, Delaware was the perfect location for their vintage wedding.

The whole town is made up of historic buildings, cobblestone streets and tons of character. Liz got ready for the big day in a lovely bed and breakfast near the wedding venue. Due to rain, they couldn't have their ceremony in the original location, but were able to put a cozy tent in the lawn by a beautiful brick building. They didn't let anything spoil their day! It worked out perfectly. They served their guests beverages and cookies, and the soothing sound of rain on the tent and a harp playing softly in the corner made it very peaceful and inviting.

Liz and Steve said vows to each other and their kids, then performed a traditional handfasting ceremony to symbolize their union. We were blessed with a small break in the rain to take Liz and Steve’s portraits outside. Odessa has so many great spots and we could have photographed these two all day! Their reception was in the bank building in downtown Odessa, just a few steps from their ceremony location. The 1920’s details were absolutely perfect.

You could tell Liz put so much time and thought into every little detail. Even their wedding colors were well thought out – orange symbolizes a friendship that flamed into romance. We especially loved the vintage typewriter, Tiffany stained glass wedding cake, mini champagne bottle favors and the amazing photo backdrop Liz and Steve created themselves! Everyone had a blast and it was so much fun to capture.
