Lecture: “The Corbit Tannery - A Delaware Industry Lost In Time”

This lecture is being hosted by the Historic Odessa Foundation in celebration of International Archaeology Day - - a world-wide celebration of archaeology-related events.
This presentation will highlight the importance of tanneries in colonial Delaware and describe what a tannery looked like.  The historical research done during the past year regarding the current effort to locate the lost Corbit Tannery in Odessa through archaeological methods will be discussed.
The presentation will be given by John Bansch, Volunteer Coordinator of Archaeology Projects at the Historic Odessa Foundation and past-president of the Sussex Chapter of the Archaeological Society of Delaware.
