HOF Participates in "Christmas in Odessa"

The first "Christmas in Odessa" took place 49 years ago as a fundraiser for the Women's Club of Odessa. The purpose was to fund college scholarships for local high school seniors. With the help and cooperation of Odessa homeowners and the Historic Odessa Foundation, the Women’s Club of Odessa has provided scholarships to over 100 students.

Participants experience a special candlelight tour of our 2015 holiday exhibit and enjoy champagne and festive treats in front of a roaring fire at the Collins-Sharp House, c.1700.

Holiday Candlelight Tour 2015 Hosted by the Curator - SOLD OUT

Get into the Christmas spirit by attending a special evening candlelight guided tour offered by the curator of the Christmas exhibit, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland at the National Historic Register, Wilson-Warner House.  The curator will describe the inspiration and process behind the furnishings and decorations for each room vignette.

Fairy Tale Time

Join the Historic Odessa Foundation and the Corbit-Calloway Library as we read excerpts from “Alice in Wonderland” and then tour our holiday exhibit after decorating delicious holiday cookies. We welcome parents and children for storytime, cookie decorating and a tour of our holiday exhibit.

HOF Quilters Sew In

On August 18th from 10 – 3 there will be a "Sew In" of invited quilters and needlewomen. The day will include a chance to sew with others with similar interests.  Participants should bring their projects, and sewing equipment.  Bring a bag lunch, beverages will be provided.

Hearth Cooked Dinner - Sold Out!

Join us for an evening of fine food, drink and merrymaking as the staff from the Historic Odessa Foundation serves a hearth cooked dinner of mouth-watering dishes using the recipes, tools and techniques of the 18th century. Savor our delicious British Punch and assorted appetizers by the fire before touring the Corbit-Sharp House by candlelight.

2015 Storybook Trees Registration Begins

Please join us in this festive display of over 30 trees decorated by local families, schools, and organizations showcasing books and works of children’s literature. Our Storybook trees exhibit is designed to promote reading and literacy, and is appropriate for all age groups.

Time travelers will leave the HOF Visitor’s Center no later than 9:00 am arriving for a tour of Thomas Leiper House, c. 1785, in Wallingford by approximately 10:00 am.

Sew In: Quilters Day

Calling all quilters and needlewomen…please join HOF staff and volunteers for our annual “Sew In”   

Participants gather to sew and socialize with others with similar interests and should bring their projects, sewing equipment, and a bag lunch.   

Beverages are provided. In addition the Program includes a tour of the HOF needlework collection.
