Historic Odessa Named ‘Top Spot’ by FlipKey

FlipKey, a vacation rental and review website owned by TripAdvisor, has released a list of the top historical spots worth traveling for in each of the 50 states—and Historic Odessa took the top spot in Delaware.

The list offers a variety of locales and attractions to suit any taste and travel itinerary, some already famous (the OK Corral in Tombstone, Az.) and many off the beaten path (New Jersey’s Historic Speedwell). Odessa was chosen based on industry research and traveler feedback.

It’s also worth mentioning that TripKey gives a shoutout to Georgetown’s 16 Mile as a top travel destination for beer lovers. You can sample this fine Delaware beer at the annual Odessa Brewfest, which takes place on the grounds of the 1769 Wilson-Warner House in the heart of Historic Odessa on Sept. 10, 2016.

In a state as history-rich as Delaware, it’s tempting to think of Odessa as a “best-kept secret.” With more recognition like this, the secret may finally be out.
