Art Exhibition: A Wonderful Life: Regionalist Paintings by Louise Margarite Haas Jamison
Rediscover the colorful regionalist paintings by the talented Kent County, Delaware artist Louise Margarite Haas Jamison (1915-1980).
Her paintings depict the familiar towns and historic sites that have become iconic in central Delaware. Jamison never went to art school but studied with the celebrated Lewes artist Howard Schroeder for over a decade. This retrospective of the mid-20th century artist’s work is being showcased to help bring attention to the almost forgotten woman artist. Her grandson who is trying to preserve her legacy anticipates that the exhibit will bring out more of her artwork as he aims to publish a catalogue about her life and her artistic career.
